2003 Workshop on Classroom Experiments

May 15 - 17

Tucson, Arizona

Travel

Most presenters and participants will be arriving on May 15 at the Tucson International Airport and departing from there on May 18. Transportation between the airport and hotels will be available from the Arizona Stagecoach shuttle service. Round trip fare is $48 per person, which will be reimbursed. Please make reservations in advance.

For those using transportation other than Arizona Stagecoach, be advised that only up to $48 will be reimbursed for local transportation expenses.

Vans will be on hand to provide transportation for conference events as well as to shuttle those who will be staying at El Conquistador to the Westward Look and back.

Lodging

Most participants and presenters have rooms at the Westward Look Resort, where much of the conference will take place, but a few will be staying a few miles further north at the El Conquistador Resort.

Dress / What to Bring

Dress will be casual; shorts would be no problem. Be prepared for the weather to be hot, dry, and sunny, with daytime temperatures probably in the nineties and evening temperatures in the seventies. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and perhaps a hat would be advisable, and don't forget a bathing suit if you want to take advantage of the resorts' pools.

The optional hike on Saturday evening won't require any special footwear, as it will take place on a paved pedestrian trail (through a beautiful canyon!).

Laptop computers will come in handy, so please bring one if it's convenient for you to do so.
